We kept it simple and gluttonous this St. Patrick’s Day. Luckily, you don’t have to do much to dress up Baileys Irish cream.
If you’ve been following us for a while and reading our blogs, you’ll know we love balance at ATLRx. Healthy life-style choices along with a treat every once in a while is good for the soul. And since we also love facts, we’re going to school you with some Irish knowledge. Saint Patrick was born in Britain in the 4th century and was taken as a slave to Ireland when he was 16 years old. He escaped but returned many years later to bring monasteries, churches, and Christianity to Ireland. He died March 17, 461. It was the emigrants in the US who transformed this day into what it is now. Three major cities, Boston, Chicago, and New York City still have large Irish populations. Boston held the first St. Patrick’s Day in 1737 with a parade. New York City followed in 1762 and Chicago started dying their rivers green in 1962 to join the celebration.
As we get older, we still love to indulge in holidays like St. Patrick’s Day but in the comfort of our home or with a few friends. This adult catered recipe is perfect for celebrating the day but in a more calm way than back in our college days. Happy St. Patrick’s day from the ATLRx family!
